St. Petersburg Governor George Poltavchenko met with a famous athlete Fedor Emelianenko and the president of the League of M-1, Vadim Finkelstein.

During the meeting, Fedor and Vadim told the League of the M-1, on the development and the growing popularity of mixed martial arts. And also discussed the issue of participation in the organization of the World Cup stage in mixed martial arts M-1 Challenge 31 , which will be held at the Ice Palace on March 16.

At the meeting a question was raised about the prospects of mixed martial arts in Russia.
The Governor also congratulated Fedor Emelianenko on winning the Russian Championship in Combat Sambo, which was held last Saturday in Moscow. "People like Fedor Emelianenko - our pride. His need to know the whole country "- said Giorgi Poltavchenko.
