Not being able to wrestle at the time had a lot to do with that (he had a career ending neck issue then). Vince should've just kept him off TV instead of the GM gimmick where he comes out in his ATV just to run talent down and dish out stunners every week.
96 - '01 sounds about right. It all went downhill when he put Triple H over and formed an alliance with him. He should've never did that. It made his DTA character look weak.
