At the Sport Palace Yunost in Zaporozhye, Ukraine, Avtandil Khurtsidze (27-2-2, 16 KOs) won a close twelve round majority decision over Ossie Duran (26-10-2, 10 KOs) to capture the WBC's silver title at middleweight. The scores were 114:114 114:113 and 115:113. Duran's boxing skills were on display in this contest and he fought very well against his much much stronger foe. It took a few rounds for Khurtsidze to work his way into the fight, and his power was clear in the later rounds and had more effect when they found the target.

damn! bunch of beasts this weekend barely scathing by: first salido, and now my BOY, THE short, squat, stout, BEAST FROM THE EAST Avtandil!!! This dude is THE MOST muscular middleweight of all time! at 5'4'' he is built like a damn dwarven made, iron cast, BRICK SHYTHOUSE (but in a good way). . . he is basically impossible to hit in the body. . and he has this awkward head movement where he gets under your shots, and up in your face and chest. . . 9 times outta 10, he's gonna turn his hooks over first. . . your only hope is to have faster feet and keep him at the end of your jab, like my boy, THE FRENCH CAMEROONIAN - HASSAN N'DAM N'JIKAM did. . .
