That said, it cost a trillion dollars to get rid of him. IMO the Iraqi's should pay some of that back over time from oil revenue. The human cost is harder to quantify, but it's all about how many lives has it potentially saved by getting rid of Hussein, we'll never know the answer to that sadly. Overall it could be a good thing Bush did for the world but I'm not sure 100%.
Holy fuck you're stupid. No offence, but holy fuck you're stupid.

        No.

Because what did we gain? Nothing.

Not even our gain. What has happened so that Iraq will protect the interests of their citizens, freedoms, education, medicine etc etc?

WORLD WAR 3 coming in late 2012.

No real opinions on this other than the US is run by imperialistic bastards who will destroy our very way of life to accomplish their goals. None of our current wars are legit

I just hope time and history forgives us for our mistakes.
we've gotten away with a lot.. including such evil acts like nagasaki and hiroshima.
i hope this country learns before it's too late and we have to learn the hard way.
the economy is one thing.. we'll survive.
but i couldn't imagine things that we've done to other countries coming back to haunt us at home and being done to us. ****s raw.

              Stupid fn war x2.

Now we're just there to save face, which is even stupider.
Invading and occupying countries to "install your own governmental system" has always been a winner in the middle east.

We're borderline the dimbest country in the world. We're bleeding our economy at almost all levels to make the super rich richer. We're destroying our goodwill and reputations in one of the most fertile areas of the world with our extremely unpopular wars on a global level, while sending gazillions of dollars in aid to countries all over the world that hate us (for good reason a lot of times). We're rapidly becoming our own police state, the largest (by faaaaaaaar) prison industry complex in the history of mankind, personal freedoms are circling the drain, and we make more laws every single day to put more people in jail over bullshi t. We "council" our citizens to stay out of debt and be fiscally responsible, but at the same time we have to borrow money to pay back the interest on our borrowed money and have credit card companies offerring credit to 17-18 yr olds.

Amongst a million other things, you know like the near elimiation of art and physical education from our school systems, the skyrocketing of education costs, shortage of teachers, loss of power and control of teachers in the classroms... Prison guards amd teachers make about the same amt of dough nowadays....

Not saying its right because I oppose this war and have from the beginning but let's not act like 1 million Iraqis were killed solely at the hands of Americans.

The biggest mistake is taking Saddam out of power. He was the only one holding the Iranians back and now with him gone, Iran is going to take over that region.

Welcome to the 21st century were states that support terrorism have the access to nuclear weapons.

One day we will wake up and see something on the news that will be terrible.
Never read such rubbish in my life. Go back to the drawing board with your feeble attempt in analyzing the complex geopolitical situation of the Middle East. Utter garbage by a delusional emotional Westernized Mexican who life’s highlight is risking his life for white men.

You have a picture of a tyrannical and abusive despot, a sponsorer of terrorism, an enemy of freedom and a murderer and torturer of "his" own people as your avatar. Your avatar describes this monster as a "hero". I think you have forfeited any right to this discussion with your hare-brained declaration of support for a murderous thug.

Iraq enjoys free elections despite the threat and actuality of violence by religious fascists for participants. Their latest election last year had a turnout of 62%. To put this in perspective the turnout in the last US presidential election was the highest it has been since 1968 and they still only managed to mobilize 57% of the electorate. And that's without the threat of kidnapping, violence, bombing, murder.

These debates are muddied by moronic support for tyrants as a misguided expression of anti-Americanism and by baffling belief in conspiracy theories.
