Nathan Cleverly has lashed out at Carl Froch, branding the world super-middleweight champion an "absolute joke" for claiming to be one of the best British boxers in history.

Cleverly has made five successful defences of his WBO light-heavyweight title, but he would like a super fight in the United States, or an all-British showdown with Froch to propel his career in to the big time.

Cleverly's promoter Frank Warren claimed on Tuesday that Froch had turned down a £2.5million offer to take on his 26-year-old fighter. Warren even says he promised Froch that he would not have had to put his IBF and WBA super-middleweight belts on the line for the fight, for which Cleverly would have to drop down one weight division.

Although Cleverly is a world champion, Froch claims he is not good enough to face him in the ring - a claim that has clearly riled the Cefn Fforest fighter.

Cleverly accused Froch of being too scared to fight him and also laughed off the Midlander's claim to be the best British boxer of all time along with Lennox Lewis.

Never has a person epitomised the words "paper champion" like this turd that simply will not flush.

1. Sells a meagre 4,000 tickets on his "homecoming"
2. Labours to 12-round snoozes over Karpency etc
3. Won a vacant British, a vacant european, a vacant commonwealth and finally, a vacant world title.

He's never fought a former, or reigning champion yet.

No one cares! Calzaghe could box couldn't (wouldn't) fight!! Froch could fight (a little) but can't box!!! That means the fight would STINK!

Froch---THE Worst Jab in Boxing History! I never saw a worse one on a supposed top ten guy! He could row across the ocean with that jab hahahhaha!!!!

Yet he's been able to control world class fighters with it, when he sticks with it.

As awkward as it looks, it is a VERY effective punch. Guys find it hard to read, it's thrown from strange angles and it is very, very rangy.

As for Clevery, who cares. Shut up and fight someone decent.

Because they keep ducking him or turning down offers to fight him.

It's hilarious that Cleverly gets sh1t for things he has no control over. He won a vacant world title because the so called champion b1tched out of the fight at the last minute.

Cleverley is a funny one. Froch is a fighter who has travelled the world and fought and beat the best fighters in his strong weight class(Ward the only exception) and has done as much to earn worldwide acclaim and respect for his willingness and desire to fight the best, no matter where, home or away. Clev is starting to sound like a dick recently.
