Exactly,
IMO Cotto needs to learn how to tie Margarito up and be clever on the inside. That’s very difficult for a shorter fighter to do to a taller fighter but that’s what he needs to do. Cotto has to be able to REST without taking punishment. His idea of a rest before was to scamper away backwards and lean on the ropes. Some fighters like Floyd, Pac, Marquez etc have the ability to fight a high energy fight for 12 rounds, Cotto has not shown that but who knows if he can do it this fight. He has to pace himself accordingly and not panic when he feels fatigue setting in.
A guy like Margarito feeds off of panic. Cotto must also realize that Margarito could also be feeling tired but just not showing it. Hide your discomfort at ALL times. Cotto does not hide his discomfort you can see it. To be honest when I see a fighter who can’t hide his discomfort, I always associate it with stamina problems. Fatigue can makes cowards out of brave men.
