Abner Mares’ rematch with Joseph Agbeko on December 3rd might be the last time we see him at 118lbs. The undefeated IBF bantamweight champ would like to move up to 122 after this fight and face the bigger names there.

x2 but I'm happy to see Mares give Agbeko the rematch. It is certainly warranted considering the piss-poor officiating that went on during the first fight.
Haven't seen Mares since then. Has he learned top keep his punches up at all? At any rate this fight needs Steve Smoger or Vic Drakulich (my 2 favorite refs) or somebody that can at least see the more obvious fouls. With proper officiating, I'll take Agbeko by close UD or even maj/split decision in a brawl. |
