Ross Pearson moving to Featherweight!
It;s confirmed. My boy Pearson is moving down to featherweight to have a better chance of becoming a UFC champion. he believes the 10lb cut will be in his best interests.
Definately it will be in his best interests as there's some live competition at Lightweight with Edgar, Maynard, Barboza, Gomi, Diaz, Etim, Pettis, Dunham, Guillard, Sotiropoulos, Cerrone, Sass, Sherk ... etc
Moving down to Featherweight theres much less competition.
Although his last fight (war) against Barboza was Heavy still, Fight of the Night and lost on a split decision.
Ross says, "You hear Dana saying all the time that these athletes in the sport have got a small window of oppurtunity, and I just feel like I fit in well in the 145lb division. I see myself shooting straight into the top 10, if not top five, of the division and pushing for a title shot right away. I feel like i'm 27 years old now and i'm wanting big fights, big oppurtunities. I'm not in this sport because i just want to fight this guy, fight that guy; I want to be the best"
The fast fisted stand up specialist, who dropped the weight with the help of his nutrition sponsors Myprotein and is now based at Alliance MMA in California, added: "I'm getting to the age in my career where my body is performing its best. I'm getting to my physical peak and i want to make a run for a title shot. I just see that the (featherweight) division would be the fastest way to getting to a title shot."
I'm hyping off hearing dis yu know. he's right, there ent f*** all in the Featherweight division really compared to the Lighweight. I will be devastated now trust me, if he don't smash some heads now in at 145lbs. Aldo watch out b...
And Trust Me watch out for Jamaine Facey (English welterweight) when Dana signs him up to the UFC, whenever that may be!!???!!
