*******s: "Manny fought a better version of JMM because JMM doesn't drink his piss anymore!"
Is that the best you guys can do?

Anyway people are using a double standard by saying Manny beat guys worst than Mayweather did. De La Hoya was a year and a half older and coming down in weight. Hatton had been knocked out and came off of two lackluster wins. But JMM was 38 and moving up in weight for a second time and Manny STILL had trouble with him. Manny had more trouble with JMM than Floyd did with De La Hoya or Hatton.

Who's #2? Charlie Zelenoff? All he's done the past year and 1/2 is sucker punch a C Class fighter. Stop it.

I would believe Donaire or Martinez as #1 more, despite them looking less than stellar as well in their last fights.

Also, you're comparison about a double standard is far from accurate. Floyd beat the better versions of De La Hoya, Hatton, Mosley, and Marquez at 144. Marquez was viewed as a better fight and still really good going into his fight with Floyd in 2009, and Floyd dominated him. Marquez was viewed as a past it fighter, who wasn't even as good as he was 2-3 years ago, who had beend ominated over 2 years ago at that weight, and arguably beat Pacquiao again. Therefore, you're statement doesn't make sense, givent he fact that Mayweather still fought the better version of Marquez at 144 lbs.

So....you're saying that Marquez was magically better against Pacquiao because he didn't drink his piss??? He didn't train hard for Floyd??? Get the f**k outta here. Hey, I was with you on the whole "Pacquiao is going to kill Marquez. TKO in 6 or 7." I thought that as well, especially since Marquez isn't even as good as he was 2-3 years ago. Since losing to Floyd, he beat Diaz by KO, but Diaz was beating him on points up until the KO, and he had gotten dropped by Katsidis, and struggled in that fight. Marquez was viewed as a way past it fighter going into the fight, you can't deny it.

Given the facts that Floyd beat Ortiz, young and in his prime, coming off big wins, and a guy that Pacquiao declined to fight after Ortiz-Berto, and was clearly out classing Ortiz, he should be put at #1. Sure, Victor had some success against Floyd, but Floyd for those 4 rounds was handily beating Ortiz, out landed him by like 50 punches and a 17% higher connect rate, and out working him! It wasn't close, though Ortiz had his moments in the 2nd round (i scored the 2nd even, could have gone either way) and the last minute of the 4th.

Since Floyd looked rather impressive against Ortiz, and Pacquiao dodged a bullet against a way past it Marquez, and givent he fact that Mayweather had previously dominated Marquez, I think Floyd does deserve the #1 ranking. Marquez is past is prime, past even how good he was 2-3 years ago, but he showed that he still has it. For the record, I scored the fight 114-114 a draw.

Max Kellerman said it best...."Pacquiao hasn't fought an opponent that still has it since Marquez in 2008".

Pacquiao's run has EVERYTHING to do with his opponents. He fought De La Hoya at 147, coming off a loss to Floyd and a horrid outing against Forbes. Hatton, after a KO loss to Floyd and horrid outings against Lazcano and Malignaggi. Cotto, after the KO loss to Margarito and a horrid outing against Clottey. Clottey, hadn't even won a boxing match in 2 years. Margarito, coming off a KO loss to Mosley. Mosley, coming off a loss to Floyd and a horrid outing against Mora. Marquez, coming off wins, but wins where he had been seen slipping big time, but coming off wins non the less.

You're argument seems to be, "what has Floyd done to get put at #1"???? Well....he never actually lost #1, and Pac never really took it from him.

Floyd has 3 good wins that clearly put him above Pac. He dominated then #2 in the world Marquez, who was viewed as still really good, and who has since showed he can be very good at 144, as he arguably beat Pacquiao at 144. Then, he beat Mosley, than # 9-10 (can't remember) in the world, coming off a big KO win over the Margarito, the last time we saw a somewhat prime Margarito. Then, he beat Victor Ortiz, coming off 5 straight wins (including a win over previously unbeaten Berto) and a draw he should have won over highly rated Peterson.

Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz.....given the facts going into the fight, Mayweather should be back at #1, though he probably won't be.

For the record, Arum revealed by saying "Manny will finally call Floyd's bluff" after the Marquez fight, that Manny in fact NEVER agreed to be randomly tested without a cutoff date before, NEVER. So, how did Floyd dodge Pacquiao than???

If there are no more issues regarding the fight, it should be no problem for Arum to make the fight, but it's up to BOB ARUM, Manny confirmed that after the fight on Saturday.
Great point here man, much respect for Pac but I highly doubt he'll beat Floyd in the future and I for one was looking for Pac to dominate Saturday night.

p4p isnt based on one fight on one night or day! Floyd since his comeback has beat a never fought at WW, piss drinking bloated fighter in JMM. Who has now learnt from that fight, stopped poisining himself with the piss and has acclimatised to the weight now.
So of course he was going to do better. JMM has seemed like he had eternity to prepare for this fight as well. Just like Floyd had eternity to prepare for JMM.
Dude, Im starting to think that in order to pry you apart from Pac's testicles you would need a crowbar! A big one!!!

If flooyd wants to be known as the best p4p guy in the world he knows what hes got to do, and thats step up to the plate.

Pac didnt become no1 on the basis of one fight, so he wont lose it on the basis of one fight.

Enough said my as$.. lol

Floyd officially retired in 2007. So Pac who had been number 2 since 2006, took his spot...If he wants it back then he has to beat Pac in the ring, or wait for him to retire, or wait for him to lose. And when I said lose, it means actually him losing, not the so called 'moral' victory of his opponents that you guys keep harping about....

OK... why can't Pac fight Berto next?

If Pacquiao is reluctant to fight Mayweather because he is coming off an iffy performance and his/his team's morale and confidence may be low, then fight Berto.
