Post Comments Thread For: Rodriguez: I'll Beat Adrien Broner, Take The Title Home

Cincinnati, Ohio - Boxing fans will be giving thanks for an explosive night of boxing on Thanksgiving weekend this year when Adrien "The Problem" Broner battles Argentina's Vicente Rodriguez for the vacant WBO Junior Lightweight World Title on Saturday, November 26 at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio in a fight that will be televised on HBO Boxing After Dark. For Broner, it will be the young undefeated hometown hero's first shot at a world title, and where better to have it take place than in his backyard with family, friends and hometown fans supporting him. For Rodriguez, it's the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of countrymen Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez and Marcos "Chino" Maidana and burst onto the world boxing stage by capturing his first world title under the bright HBO lights in his United States debut. Rodriguez is basically committing suicide by signing to fight The Problem. Adrien Broner is on a whole different level than the rest of the junior lightweights and lightweights. Say what you want to say about him, but skill for skill there is nobody in his division that poses a threat. This will be a complete shutout or knockout followed by the "Mr. Miyagi" dance that Broner has shown us in the past.

Gamboa is on his way to 130. He'll be a "problem" for Broner.

Yea okay sure. Defense is also a big part of the sweet science and although Gambo is very strong and fast, he is still much to wild for Broner. Gamboa has tasted the ring floor in the past. Styles make fights so his defense would have to really improve but that would compromise the aggressiveness he has showed in the past. Honestly Gamboa can't beat Adrien Broner or Gary Russell Jr. Keep it real!

The mention of Gamboa's defense, or lack thereof, is old. Yuri has demonstrated excellent defense in his last few fights. The times he's appeared to show a weak "D" were always when he chose to tear straight through his opponents. He normally demonstrates controlled aggression, a la Mike Tyson, not "wildness". Gamboa has been down four times in his career, all of them due to being off balance. He's never been hurt.

Adrien is still young and may very well improve dramatically. But, right now, he loses to Yuriorkis. Broner won a controversial decision over Ponce De Leon, a very slow fighter nowhere near the skill level and ability of Gamboa. And, speaking of styles making fights, I'd love to see how "The Problem" handles the ball of fire that is "El Ciclon". Gamboa's high-pressure, swarming style is custom made for Broner's "poor man's Mayweather" style.

Gary Russell, Jr. is way too green to even mention in the same breath as Yuriorkis Gamboa. Gary is a major prospect, but you're not exactly "keeping it real" when you proclaim that Gamboa can't beat him. Of course Russell looks particularly good against the kind of men he's matched-up with this early in his career. Every fighter looks good when they're shadowboxing....

Broner is going to have to get KO'd to take a loss. We saw him lose to PDL and he was given a gift. If it's very clear that he is beaten every round, he may lose a SD. Short of getting KO'd, I don't see him taking a loss. He has the right people in his pocket and that was obvious to me after the robbery against PDL.

Good looking record for Rodriguez, all local bouts...the 1 time out of Argentina he got KO'd...unless Broner just exposes his chin, he should take this in a not too tough bout, unless he lets it be...
