I'm currently 6 foot 1, roughly 80kg, very lean. I know weight gain isn't necessary for boxing, but I'd like to gain about 10kg. I have no specific time frame in mind, I know it won't happen overnight...
Normally, I'd go about this by eating a caloric surplus, and lifting heavy. However, boxing is still my number one priority, and I train Monday-Friday, as well as working full time, cycling to and from work, and doing roadwork in the morning. I generally leave the house at 5:30, and get home 9:30, so I have zero time for lifting during the week, unless I replace a training session with a weights session, which I'm not willing to do.
So if I was to integrate a day of lifting into one of the days I've currently designated as a rest day, I don't think it would interfere with my training. Can I expect any gains with 1 day of weights a week? Bearing in mind I will constantly be eating at a surplus...
