Come on, you knew they were coming back to save the day. Classic movie move, the good guy is down and lo and behold, the other character that left comes back to save the day.

I think these first 2 episodes have been real slow and it's making me wonder if they even have a direction of where they are going.

My main gripe against the storyline is The Governor and his fort that he built with his goons. Everything about him screams, "Hey, I'm the villain!" It's just the way they have this city set up where people are walking around like it's the Best Place in The World, USA and then gather around for zombie fights on Friday nights to blow off steam is corny. Then they get scared when a gun battle erupts at the zombie fights and Andrea gives them a pep talk and they calm down in five seconds. And the Governor meanwhile is away brooding, still pissed that Michonne broke all the heads in the jars. Yeah, I realize the show is based on a comic book series, but still, this stuff takes it out of the "realistic" element for me.

The reason why the Governor subplot is so disappointing is that in the past they demonstrated that the show could present far more realistic villains. In Season 2 (I think) when Rick, Hershel and Glen got stuck in that bar and they were confronted by those sheisty dudes, to me those are the types of characters that would have been more effective villains because they seem more normal and you can imagine that these kind of people would be roaming around taking advantage of other people (as I recall, there was even the hint that these dudes would waste no time raping all the women they came across, something way more horrifying than staging Friday Night Zombie Fights, IMO).

Having said all this, the latest episode really delivered a big surprise in the last 10 minutes, when that prisoner dude was telling his story. That was a good scene.

But, overall, I still like the show.

He also killed his best friend. Rick is also the leader and is looked up to, which I imagine is a stressful role to play in a "zombie apocalypse".

About Governor, I agree with you and Dominicano. The part where he gets shot at and he barely flinches and just smiles is too much. He's worse in the comic book though, believe it or not AMC watered him down for the series.

This show sure is good at getting rid of every character I start to like.

Last ten minutes were exciting, rest of the show was not. Except for the trunk kill, that was nice. I expect the next few episodes to be a lot better.

Rick is the boss of all the zombies, that is why he survives every attack and when they catch him they never seem to bite him.

What a plot twist that would be, it was Rick all along. He started all this sh*t. I mean we're in the 3rd season and AMC hasn't given us any clue on how the outbreak started or who started it. Any crazy sh*t is possible.

Yea that's what my friend thinks. Another thing that I said was that at the end of the show, they will show Rick waking up and all this was a dream.

I hope they don't do this, I would be pissed.

You could go some where with that, it'd have to be a hell of a writer to not f-ck it up, the dream thing. Then they show Rick hugging Carl and Lorie, and the camera closes up on Carl and he puts the face Michael Jackson puts at the end of Thriller, and the show ends like that.
