Post Comments Thread For: Jessie Vargas: I'll Catch Lopez if He Comes Forward

BoxingScene.com caught up with undefeated junior welterweight Jessie Vargas at the Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas. Vargas, who recently appeared on BoxingScene's audio show, The Boxing Lab, said that he was prepared for anything that his opponent Josesito Lopez brings to the ring on September 17th. Lopez is known as an aggressive fighter who comes towards his opponent. Vargas feels that Lopez would be making a mistake by trying that against him.

Did anyone catch Dallas Jr-Lopez? How was Lopez doing before the knockout? Was it a dominant performance, or was he getting out boxed before he caught him or tired him?

Dallas is not really a good enough fighter for one to gauge Lopez's level of talent, but all and all Dallas was boxing too cautious and reserve moving backwards too much and not sitting down on his punches, he was fighting off the back foot most of the fight and was just overwhelmed by the volume and come foward style of Lopez, If I had to base it off that fight I would say Lopez is a decent fighter but not much skill, I feel they choose him more for the 'Entertainment factor rather than true competition, Vargas should win relatively easy unless he is not as good as they make him out to be ..

Lopez is a good opponent, it's not going to be an easy fight.

Dallas isn't that bad. He has decent boxing skills and looked pretty good against Herrera in a fight I thought he was robbed in. I do agree that he needs to sit down on his punches more though.
