Does anyone else find this ridiculous with these boxing PPV's?

It sucks but they still have to provide both regular and HD broadcasts becasue some people may have HD TV's but not HD boxes or satellite dishes. If they just shot it in HD those without HD boxes would have a crappy picture.

Just an FYI, instead of ordering from box (because I have HD in basement and regular in rest of house) I call and make sure they have it on each TV. So for 1 price (the HD price) i get it on 4 TV's.

Well it's like that anyways.... Your account as a whole gets the ppv... should work on all your tv's regardless. On DirecTV that's how it is anyway...

And I understand they need to offer SD... that's not what this thread is about... it's about charging $10 more dollars for something that is a standard at this point.

If anything... SD is not the standard, you should pay more for what is NOT the standard. Or offer the same price.

Because people pay for it. Why would they just lower the price when a ton of people still pay extra for it?

But is it standard? Not everything is shot with HD cameras. I have comcast. I have an HD box. On DIrect they have an HD dish and HD box. So isn't SD still standard?

My guess is that this is a way to up the ppv fee that has not kept up with the pace of inflation. I mean, how long have ppv cards been priced at $50? I think in the 90's, 00's and in this decade the standard ppv price is still at $50. So I guess I don't have that much of problem with it..

When the entire United States switches local channels over to HD... I'd say it's now the standard.

What these companies, and these ppv events are doing, is still sucking the coin out of us for it because they can and because we pay for it.

When local broadcasts switched to HD... to me, that was the day.
