Peter Quillin is correct, there should be a MW tournament. It's the perfect time!

It's basically Sergio Martinez and no one else, really.

So, how do you create interest in a division with only one star? A tournament, duh.

Now is the perfect time. There is a lot of talent at MW all over the globe, the problem is, most people never seen a lot of these guys or barely at all.

Look at some of these names:

    Peter Quillin
    Matthew Macklin
    Dmitry Pirog
    Gennady Golovkin
    Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam
James Kirkland (unless he's stuck on fighting at 154)
    Marco Antonio Rubio
    Daniel Geale
    Andy Lee/Brian Vera winner
    David Lemieux
    Danny Jacobs
    Fernando Guerrero
    Nobuhiro Ishida

*You can cross out Felix Sturm and Chavez jr. from the list because you know damn well that wouldn't happen.

A super six like tournament would be absolutely PERFECT for the MW division right now, especially since the Super Six is coming to an end. This would create interest in the division, create stars as well as create credible opponents for Martinez.

Who would you like to see in it? How many fighters? 4? 6? 8? 10? Single elimination? Round robin? Who would you like to have in it? Speak on it!

I disagree! I think there is a lot of talent there and a lot of hidden gems as well.

Look what the super six did with 168. Who the hell knew carl froch would turn out this good? who knew ward would school kessler right off the bat? Of course it had it's many flaws with injuries and what not, but you learn from that (I think single elimination is the only way to go).

the difference is the guys at 168 want to fight each other. in mw, u have everyone fighting bums waiting for a shot at sergio. and u have sergio fighting bums waiting for a money shot. its a damn shame.

no way GBP or ARUM guys will be allowed to partake. . . but i agree, tis an EXCELLENT idea. . . basically all those guys Natas listed are at the same point in their careers (varying degrees). . . Middleweight is one of the golden/glory divisions of boxing and what better way to bring attention back to it?

Showtime exec was talking about another tournament soon, so maybe he will make it happen?

This time just make it straight up single elimination, though. it will go a lot smoother.

I think Quillin is by far and above everyone else with the exception of Martinez of course then comes Pirog (and he's getting old now) and probably Rubio, most of the rest don't look like they are going far to me. I mean it would be fun but it would be so impossible to get done, I seriously doubt Sturm and Chavez would be the only ones not willing to participate. Methinks someone wants to see kid chocolate get some experience and destroy some of the bigger names

Arum wouldn't put any of his stars that's why I excluded Chavez. Golden Boy already had their fighter in Mares in the bantamweight tournament so I don't see why not. It's not like any of these guys are big stars with so much to lose. There is nothing to lose here, only gain.

I agree. Showtime would be smart to do this. I think I vaguely remember hearing them talk about Cruiserweight and/or 122 pounds. But I don't think either are a good idea because I just don't see a lot of interest there. Cruiserweight would be probably technically the best but for US fans I don't think they would care too much.

Look at the super six? they pulled that off with a lot of promoters and different countries. It's possible. I'm not saying everyone on that list I just listed some of the names in the division. I think it could be done. 6 guys would definitely be down for it.
