Undefeated junior welterweight contender Vernon Paris (24-0, 14KOs) is a man on a mission. This coming Friday at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California, Paris will challenge Tim Coleman (19-1-1, 5KOs) for the USBA title. The fight was orginally scheduled for the Tim Bradley-Devon Alexander undercard on January 29th, but Coleman withdrew with an injury.

The kid needs to be around better people, He's a product of Motown and you would think he was Tommy Hearns by all the people in his inner circle. He act as if he won titles in multiple weight classes by the way he conducts himself. I know him well because my nephew fought him as a amature. His heart is also questionable in deep waters. Talent can get you only so far, it's the fortitude that makes champions however. I have seen many kids just like Vernon many from Detroit, that did not reach their full potential.
