B-Pac Vs. Famoso - How I See It

Well, this is how I scored the Bobby Pacquiao – Hernandez fight.

    First impression
    ----- BP – CH
    Rd 1. 10 – 9
    Rd 2. 10 – 8
    Rd 3. 10 – 10
    Rd 4. 9 – 10
    Rd 5. 10 – 10
    Rd 6. 9 – 10
    Rd 7. 9 – 10
    Rd 8. 9 – 10
    Rd 9. 10 – 10
    Rd10. 10 – 9
    ----> 96 - 96 (Draw)

    After watching couple more times
    -----BP-CH
    Rd 1. 10 - 9
    Rd 2. 10 - 8
    Rd 3. 10 - 9
    Rd 4. 9 - 10
    Rd 5. 10 - 9
    Rd 6. 9 - 10
    Rd 7. 9 - 10
    Rd 8. 9 - 10
    Rd 9. 10 - 9
    Rd10. 9 - 10
    ----> 95 – 94 (B-Pac by 1 point margin)

If I was a judge, this is the way I would score it (1st). The first score was tabulated after watching the fight the first time without the mandatory deduction to the loser in the round; while the second was after watching the same fight two more times (the first-second focusing on B-Pac and the second-second focusing on Famoso) with the mandatory point deduction to the loser in the round.

It wasn’t a robbery like some people said it was. I think it was a very close fight and any of them could have won the decision either way. However the two judges saw B-Pac winning by 2 to 3 margins.

    Round 1
The first round shows a clear difference in styles with Bobby showing some lateral movements and boxing skills, sticking to move inside and out after throwing some 1-2-3 combinations, uppercuts and nice jabs. Famoso on the other hand continuously puts pressure on Pac by stalking him around the ring and trying to come in close contact where he has the advantages. Round 1 belongs to B-Pac with the virtue of nicely timed jabs and uppercuts and right and left combos. Famoso tried to steal the round late in the round but didn’t come out successful. Round 1 to B-Pac

    Round 2
In round 2, Famoso sensing that B-Pac has the advantage in the outside having won the first round on his mind goes to work early with some body shots in the inside and tries to hustle and intimidate his opponent who is not known for his power and only possesses decent boxing skills. He makes a mistake by deciding go for a kill late in the round and was hit by a short left on the chin as he was coming in which results to flash KD against him. It was a close round but the KD made the big difference. Round 2 to B-Pac.

    Round 3
In this round, B-Pac with his confidence high after dropping Famoso in the last round comes out with both guns blazing and peppered Famoso with some 4-5-6 combinations early in the round. Midway in the round, Famoso unleashes some combinations and stuns B-Pac with a right hand; but Pac continues to show some big heart and doesn’t stop in his attack. At about midway in the round, Pac was clearly ahead in points. Famoso rallies in the middle round but B-Pac is still trading punches and able to tag Famoso with his own shots. Famoso is able to hurt B-Pac who tries to answer everything Famoso throws at him. This is another close round, but slight edge to B-Pac. Round 3 to B-Pac.

    Round 4
This is the first round IMO that Famoso is able to really take control of the fight and found his rhythm. His power is clearly evident as he hurt B-Pac with constant barrage to the midsection. Although at this point B-Pac was still throwing punches, but the round belongs to Famoso as he hurt B-Pac with cleaner shots. Round 4 to Famoso.

    Round 5
In this round, B-Pac is able to re-establish himself by going back to boxing, keeping the distance, throwing quick jabs and popping an uppercut to Famoso’s chin early in the round. Famoso has some moments but Pac lands the cleaner shots. Famoso tried a short rally in the round and hit B-Pac on the temple but IMO doesn’t do much to win this round. Round 5 to B-Pac.

(I could hear Pac yelling instructions to his lil’ brother in the backround!)

    Round 6
In this round Famoso is the busier fighter by making his hands work harder. B-Pac is still throwing some combinations but they are not crisp and Famoso is the one throwing the cleaner punches. B-Pac starts to show some sign of fatigue and keeps on raging Famoso with his head. Round 6 to Famoso.

(During the break Famoso’s corner is telling his ward that they are not going to get a decision -- to get his attention for the next round.)

    Round 7
This round shows the two fighter exchanging blows in which Famoso has a clear advantage. Famoso still has the more powerful punches but B-Pac keeps on throwing everything he got. Famoso pummels B-Pac to the head constantly with swinging left and right and a few uppercuts. Round 7 to Famoso.

(During the break, Manny was shown telling some instructions to his brother.)

    Round 8
B-Pac starts with a few 5-6 combos early in the round but Famoso keeps on coming. Both fighters are now showing fatigue but keeps on trading punches. This is a close fight mid-way in the round as both fighters are having easy time finding each other. Famoso rallies later in the round and sent B-Pac reeling against the ropes -- a straight right from Famoso to punctuate the round. Round 8 to Famoso.

    Round 9
B-Pac looks to be reinvigorated and takes advantage of Famoso’s slow start. Famoso seems to be very tired. B-Pac goes back to throwing jabs and Famoso answers with 2 two hard shots to B-Pac’s liver but seems to be no effect. Forty-four minutes remaining in the round and it looks like B-Pac is going to get the round. Nice left from B-Pac that meets 3 lefts, an uppercut and a combo from Famoso to the head late in the round but not enough to steal the round from his opponent. Close 9th round but slight advantage to B-Pac.
    Round 9 to B-Pac.

(During the break, Roach tries to pomp B-Pac to give all he got to win the fight.)

    Round 10
B-Pac answering Freddie Roach’s call started strong in the last round. A flurry of shots sends Famoso on the ropes. Good right from Famoso, big left from B-Pac. B-Pac keeps Famoso at bay. A couple of right startled Pac 1 minute remaining in the fight. Famoso throws Pac through the ropes. Late round flurries from Famoso late in the round. It is a close round but I think Famoso did enough to win this round. Round 10 to Famoso.

NOTE: I think rounds 3, 5 7, 8, 9 and 10 are close and either fighter can win any of them depending on what the judge is looking for.

Anyways, this is how I saw the fight. How about you guys?

I know...I need points to gamble!

I only saw it from rd.6-10, just basing it on those rounds, Hernandez won by a wide margin(definitely a robbery), but it didn't look easy. He basically outworked B-Pac, who is basically just a slower version of Manny w/ a better jab. I guess B-Pac got tired from all the pressure Famoso was applying, 'cause the guy has a solid jab, but he kept fighting Famoso's fight who appeared to be bigger and stronger. Next time he needs to use his legs pretty much througout the fight and take it inside in spurts and get out, 'cause he's not gonna win that wrestling match inside against a guy who is built like a fire hydrant.

judge only score what they saw, they don't have the luxury of reviewing every rounds to see if they score is ok. that's why they're there.
close observation of the fight, they would've scored it as janno's score.
but initially, most will end up famoso winning by a margin..way too far in scoring a draw or even losing.

it reminded me to the O'neil Bell Vs Dale Brown fight
the upcoming young man(Bell) was given the fight even though the older figther (Brown) won a close but clear decition.
same thing happened in this fight.

Close 9th round but slight advantage to B-Pac.

Ummm...you have no real point of reference as you didn't see the full fight. How can you say it was a robbery when you saw it from Rounds 6-10? Say Bobby Pac won the first 5 rounds and you don't know it cause you didn't see them. That would make Bobby Pac the winner anyhow.

Watch full fights before judging a winner.
