The truth of the matter is that in Europe close fights are given to the hometown fighter and in America close fights are given to the fighter that generates the most money, regardless of that fighters nationality. It's why a good American fighter like Luis Collazo doesn't get the nod in close fights, either against another American like Berto, or against an overseas fighter like Hatton.
