Default Buy running shoes.

Just switched from your average shoe, to running shoes when running. Used to think it wouldn't make that much of a difference but, they had a cheap pair in JJB so I bought some. Turns out they were the best investment I ever made, keeps injuries away, stop aches and pains during running and stop things like hard skin forming.

So all the people who haven't got a pair. It's a wise choice to invest in them

I had back problems until I invested into flat shoes with no arc support. They have strengthened my entire posture and I will never purchase a regular pair of shoes again

Anybody who runs needs to find their perfect shoe and stick with it. Switch it out every 4 months or so, depending on how much you run.

Your weight and gait are the main things. I'm 175, have high arches, and I underpronate. The Saucony Grid Triumph is my shoe. Do your research online (roadrunnersports is the place that helped me most I think). I've gone to shoe stores and had them try to push the latest and greatest shoes on me, later to find out that they aren't even for my gait type.

One thing you need to make sure of is that you get the right size, even if it's hard to find. My size is 10.5 wide. I was going with 11 regulars and getting terrible back pain and pain up the sides of my legs. Once I got my actual size, I was not only fine, I'm less sore after a run.

For When JC Gomez Is Away - Carnivore
Thumbs up Agreed

People are now realising that flat, inexpensive running shoes are best. Expensive, cushioned running shoes are the biggest con ever. I think I made a thread about this a couple of years back.

The only problem is running over stones, which can be a bit painful.

2,000 miles? That crazy. 300-400 miles is when you should be changing your shoes.

I run in theses Nike pegusus 27. These shoes are light and cushoned. It's a great idea to rotate your shoes so you can give the sole a chance to decompress.
