According to reports in Puerto Rico, former welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (32-3-1, 28KOs) could possibly face WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto (36-2, 29KOs) on December 3. The frontrunner to face Cotto on the December date is Mexico's Antonio Margarito (38-7, 27KOs). The Mexican boxer is still recovering from injuries that he suffered in last November's loss to Manny Pacquiao. If Margarito is not physically recovered to face Cotto by the December date, then Cintron has a very good shot of stepping in. Cintron has a very tough fight ahead, against Carlos Molina on July 9 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

Cintron beats Cotto & I like Cotto more.Both can't take as much as they can dish but Cintron has more physical advantages,if they meet Cintron wins.It pains me to say so but it is what it is.

Although ill be rooting for Cotto I could see Cintron stopping Cotto at this point of his career. I would rather get a Margarito Cotto fight but this will also be good

Cotto by TKO. However Cintron needs to at least get a tune up. All this waiting for a big fight is getting him ring rust.

cotto cintron is actually the best fight to be made since it would be for The Ring belt (cotto is #1, cintron is #2).
