we all know HBO has the choice, nevertheless they gonne say 'Look, Gamboa knocked Daud out, what John couldnt do, why is Gamboa suppose to fight John!'

WBA stripped Gamboa. well, he was going to get stripped anyway, he refused to fight John for a long time now. (both Super-champs)

Barros vs Caballero is for the regular title. Gamboa already beat Barros, he could fight the winner without having to face John.

Ahmet Oner wouldnt risk Gamboa's pretty looking 0.
