This thread asks albout legalizing all drugs. Lumping them all together. Thats the way the government looks at them and most of us know they are not the same and some are not as dangerous as others. Putting hard drugs on the street would be bad but all the money spent on policing the softer or less harmfull drugs is wasted funds. And the government spends a fortune policing marijuana with the same detemination they do herion.

There's a difference between legalisation and decriminalization. Portugal has the right idea imo:

Totally agree with this except weed should be legal. You why weed should be legal? Because all of the people that go to jail for it. They get caught, get sent to jail, then when they get out they smoke and fail their piss test and go back for smoking a harmless plant that is NATURAL.

Not to mention all the ***** out there now as "substitutes" that are killing people like the bath salt and the K-2. Both are 10x worse then weed but you can buy easily down the street. Nothing but chemicals that will stop your heart.

over heres its different (UK). Ive a mate was caught with a K of weed (plants, resin and weed), got let of with a suspended sentance. He said he addicted to weed, so as long as he went to councilling etc he could be caught with small amounts of weed and not get done for it. No piss tests either.

Although the new govt in the UK have said the current system is too light on drug dealers and they are gonna toughen things up.

also the previous govt (which is blamed for being to lenient on drugs) have dismissed medical experts opinions on drugs, and even sacked their top advisor for telling them (and the public) the truth about drugs, i.e. that some arent that bad, and only a select few are worse than smoking and alcohol was the worst overall.

They are all too scared of public opinion going against them to take on board what needs to be done.
