Manny's leg injury was legit, and the real reason he didn't cut the ring off

I just re-watched the fight and as early as the 3rd round, Manny was showing signs of his left leg bothering him.

This is after the Knockdown. Watch around the 50 second mark as he tries to catch up to Shane but can't as he isn't able to plant and pivot proper.

Here is another clip. If you pay attention to his left foot (as he isn't able to put alot of weight on it)

And when ever he tried, look how awkward he was trying to throw combinations.

    Slow motion replay

Lastly, while I'm too lazy to post more videos, throughout the fight, if you pay attention to his back left foot, he was real hesitant to either bounce off of it, or try to put a whole lot of weight on it.

If you have followed Manny, he loves to spring off his back left foot to get power in his shots. This fight, I saw him actually trying to spring off his front right foot to get to Mosley.

I'm just hoping they can get this issue fixed as I would hate for this to be an ongoing problem.

FWIW I just got done rewatching this bout, and it's clear that Manny couldn't cut the ring off due to the issues he was having with his left leg.

Manny couldn't plant on his left and turn to his right to save his life, but props to Shane for noticing that, and circling to Manny's right in an attempt to avoid getting tagged.

It also fvkked up his technique as I saw Manny trying to bounce off his front foot, instead of his back foot, making him throw wide sloppy punches.

These are just a few of the observations I saw from last nights fight.

I really don't care about those guys. This is just me filling in a few Pacquiao fans as to why Manny looked so sloppy and why he was having issues cutting off the ring last night.

Proof Manny gets leg and feet problems against mobile fighters, and the reason why he only wants to fight flat-footed past prime slow fighters. Manny admits it himself.

Thanks for going into detail. I knew he didn't look right after rewatching it. It's a shame this was his best training camp. Everything didn't come out as expected.

if the injury was legit, it just shows hes on the decline. If it could happen in the Marquez and Mosley fights, it can happen in the Mayweather fight too. Mayweather easy UD

Stuff like this happens in boxing. Pac fighting thru it just shows that he has the heart and eye of the tiger.

Only thing is Marquez movement also made a whole world's worth of differences in their fight. Shane isn't even good at fighting backwards.

It happens against fighters who utilize movement. Manny is always off-balance and leaps forward wildly. It causes his feet problems and his legs to tighten, which he admits happened against Morales, Marquez, and Mosley. Perhaps if he had better skills to cutoff the ring he could deal with fighters that utilized mobility. I guess it's back to rematching flat-footed Diaz, Cotto, or Margarito, so he can get back to his usual self in the ring.
