In the evenings open fight, Filipino Marlon Tapales (17-1) won a spirited battle over Alejandro Solorio (4-5-3) of California. The scores were 57-57 59-55 and 60-54 in a fight that appeared to be closer than two of the scorecards indicated. The super flyweights engaged in an exciting six round battle in which both men tasted the canvas in the fifth round. Tapales also was knocked down in the third but it was ruled a slip.

Concepcion is a damn coward. He didn't even throw that many punches to warrant the title of being a boxer. He should have been labeled as a pile of turd. Great win for Magdaleno keep having that fighter's mentality of always winning and being hungry.

Roach a tad bit overrated??? I think so.. I think he is a good trainer but not as good as the credit he gets.. He trains alot of fighters that had talent before they were coached by him. IMO if Roach was THAT good... Manny would not have lost to Morales or had trouble with JMM. Its the B level fighters that tell you more about a trainer. If they overachieve they have a good coach... But when they get outboxed by journeymen questions must be answered..
