It was pretty bad, I can't like it was hard to look at the first time I watched it. I guess because it was real violence to me, not some stupid horror movie but the fact that people were crucified and tortured that way.

the romans were very cruel people much like the spanish were in the inquisition times...torture was a regular event in those times...mel gibson has always pushed the envelope & he put all his own money into that film because no one wanted to touch the subject.it sure paid off for him financially...
