Default Ortiz is the definition of the American Dream...VIDEO

Of course he has to make a couple more title defenses against legit WW's, but all questions were answered lastnight. He took hard punches at this new weight and didn't duck the challenge when GBP tried to cash him out. I was watching a video I posted below where Ortiz was talking to some African American high school students and they were intrigued by his life story. One of the kids asked him how he feels as an underdog in this fight, and Ortiz said he's always been the underdog his whole life, but he puts his mind to it. What do they think of him now that he won? Any race and ethnicity can relate to Ortiz. He's got the life story, he's an entertaining fighter with pop, he surfs, he raps, yet listens to country, wears a sombrero with Mexican and US colored trunks, he's bilingual, and on top of that he's humble. This is the kind of role model that the kids need. I think Ortiz can fill that void in American boxing. We had De La Hoya, and Vargas as Mexican American super stars in boxing now we have Victor Ortiz. Just watch the video below. He brings more to boxing than just what goes on in the ring.
