Mayweather vs. Khan in 2012 = Whitaker vs. Trinidad

I hope Floyd just does the Pac fight and then retires. With his inactivity, as well as his "young man style" losing effectiveness with age, I just have a bad feeling that if that fight happens against the 35 year old Mayweather of 2012 that it will be another case of a down fighter getting caught by a fighter coming up. Granted that Floyd SEEMS to have lived a good clean life unlike Whitaker was. Hopefully I am wrong and he is able to go the route of B-Hop to still be able to compete at a high level as he ages.

If Khan progresses I think he will definitely fight Mayweather in the summer of 2012. Mayweather wants to fight once in England before he retires and I can see that fight being made.

If Khan unifies 140 and has one or two good wins at 147 then he will be in with a shout of beating Mayweather in 2012.

After thinking about it, Tito/Whitaker was a bit too harsh of a comparison, I would say Whitaker/ODH would be better comparison since it could have gone either way, but they gave it to the young upcoming fighter.

I'm not sure if Mayweather would want this fight in a year or two. Khan is a high risk...

I've never believed this. He'll be too worried about losing that 'O' especially at that point in his career. I believe Khan could take rounds of Mayweather.

If anyone can become the undisputed King of 140 they deserve Floyd - be it Khan or Bradley or Alexander.

Whitaker is pretty close to Mayweather

But Khan wouldn't hold Trinidads Jockstrap.

                  Money wins this.

No he's not. He's just fast.. and he'll never outbox a better overall boxer with better overall defense. Mayweather might lose a step or two, but he'll be ahead in the fight the whole time.
