Default Idea to make jab stronger

I have a pretty strong jab right now but I want to make it stronger and I came up with this interesting idea.

I have these ankle weights down my basement that you're supposed to wear while working out (the ones that velcro)... I was wondering if I strapped that ***** on my jab wrist and wore it all day long, everyday and got used to having the extra weight on my arm, will it make my jab stronger?

Whattya think?

It will make hand speed good for sure... About power... I doubt it, but it really depends on how much you are carrying around (weight wise.).

i thought it would be better to put it on both wrists, otherwse you will have unequal hands.... if it builds power then your jab could be more powerfull that your right, handspeed, rights arent suposed to be fast, to a degree, but if it will increase your hands speed then i would sugest increasing both arms and not just one.

True. I hear what your saying but right now my left hand (im a southpaw) is faster and stronger than my right.

Do you have a regular and consistant strength training routine? If not then you are asking for trouble. Good
thing the weight is light. Just take it easy and don't increase the weight to rapidly. That technique puts murderous amounts of strain on your forearms, and elbows, wich could in some cases lead to severe tennis elbow or carpal tunnel syndrome because of the forceful pop externsion, and pronation of the forearm. Use caution young one.

You are a left handed fighter, so your dominant hand which is your left hand will naturally be stronger. Forget the weighted punches and work on proper technique. Practicing with weight is great is you have proper form if not you are asking for injury. Work on technique, weighted punching is and advanced move that should be worked up to. In sports strength is a supplement to skill, imagine having the biggest squat numbers on earth but not having the moror skill or coordination to walk or run how much good would it acutually do you?

the best way to make a jab stronger is to turn your hand, when you throw a punch all four knuckles are straight, they are at twelve o clock pointing towards the cceiling, turn your hand more so that your pinky knuckle is at 11 o clock (if your orthodox) this will add more power cuz your extending your arm further and using more muscles, try it. next time at your gym hitting a bag compared to your jab before and youll feel more power

It sounds like an idea, but I would think straggling that weight around all day would do straining to your arm, as opposed to making them stronger. Try doing the horizontal jab as the above poster said. That's how I really put the max power into my jab, at the sacrifice of some quickness.
