  • Too bad boxers today care more about the money

than doing the right thing. Its all about the money baby, with cheating and corruption so rampant in the sport. Propspects getting gift decision and stoppages and also big name boxers who are abusing and not getting called out for their actions. People are going to let pacquiao cheat by not taking tests on his fights without saying a damn thing. yep that's right, it doesnt take a scientist to see what's wrong here, people are letting a man get away with cheating by ignoring the issue and looking the other way. I do believe in karma though, when the dust settles someone with a conscience will have the decency to expose the corrupt cheats in the sports and i sure can't wait till that happens

It's really the commissions and boxing organizations fault it has come to this. There are too many belts and too many weight classes, which makes it almost impossible to have a clear champ these days. Just about every so so fighter is walking around with a belt these days. So since the belt doesn't mean squat the only thing that matters now is who commands the most ppv. Hence why pac and floyd are generally viewed as the top p4p fighters. They don't have to prove it by beating the top competition it's all cherry picking, catch-weights, and selective matchmaking. Good for their wallets but bad for us. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of both but I know that both have dodged guys that could have beaten them on the way up. It's just the way it is these days.

Boxing has always been a corrupt sport, with people concerned about the money. Boxing was more corrupt in the 1940s and 1950s with Frankie Carbo, Blinky Palermo, Jim Norris, the IBC.

Maybe fighters nowadays are a little more money-hungry than in the past, but it's not they didn't care a lot about money then either.

As bad as the numerous titles are for the fans to not know who the REAL champ is, I'd say it actually helps the high-risk/low-reward fighters. Decades ago, you'd have all these contenders that didn't get a title shot, or got one way too late. The Black Murderers Row, Archie Moore for so long, Ezzard Charles at LHW, Jake LaMotta for awhile, etc...Now for these fighters, they can win a belt and it can be used as a bargaining/marketing tool.

I don't picture HBO putting up all that money for bouts like Forrest-Mosley and Wright-Mosley if they weren't unification bouts. Or Williams-Margarito, that was a bout between two of the high-risk/low-reward fighters, but both of them got nice paydays and we got a hell of a fight.

i was hoping something truth to read from an alt...

i thought i was gonna agree with you regarding the title, but the contents were just silly rants again. have you considered mayweather as well for those boxers who care more about the money and not their legacy?
