No, because Manny has already had a number of fights at welterweight. Marquez was going up from 135 to a catchweight of 144 and was changed at the last minute to 146. Manny has already gotten used to fighting at the weight while Marquez did not.

So it was okay for manny to go up and face oscar? Manny was coming up from 2 weight classes fighting a man who was JMW/MW at 147. But Floyd got discredited because Marquez was coming up? But after Manny fought oscar they was screaming for floyd to fight him. SO one fight is good enough? Does that mean your a real WW? If thats the case, why the cotto catch weight? People bring this double standard up because Marquez gave Pac hell at a lower weight class. The argument is how can Pac handle Mayweather at a higher weight class if he had to go through hell and back just to beat Marquez who totally was outclassed by Mayweather.
