Ok, so Gaye confirmed what Wlad has been saying, he has been offered a 50/50 split, but turned it down because he wants to keep all the UK money, essentially giving him a larger split of the purse than 50/50. But according to Gaye himself, it's not about the money, it's about being a unified champion.
Here is a video of him after the Valueve fight: http://www.skysports.com/video/inlin...461027,00.html He states: "My whole... my whole thing is about being a champion, that's it, you know. If you think about money, then you gonna fall short you know, I only think about my goals and targets and if you achieve them, then the money comes with it. I want to unify the belts..." Maybe Diva Gaye should listen to his own words of wisdom, if it's not about money and about unifying and being a champion, he should take the 50/50 offer from Wlad. Because if he wins, even bigger money will come. Unless of course he doesn't think he has a chance of winning and is instead afraid to loose that fake WBA trinket that really belongs to Wlad. I think that's the problem. |

The kilts should be worried about their own low pay contracted deal rather than trying to steal from Hayes pot. It's not Hayes fault that they signed for less money than him. |

This whole "who gets to keep the British PPV/German RTL money" crap really couldn't interest me less. But the point is that Haye alone is not the sole draw in the UK, as evidenced by the poor numbers of the Ruiz fight compared to the Valuev fight here, so it stands to reason that he shouldn't keep 100% of the British PPV. Wlad, on the other hand, could conceivably claim to be the sole draw in Germany where, after Haye's pullout in 2009 and the replacement by Chagaev, 99% of the audience who had paid for tickets didn't ask for refunds.
This whole situation boils down to does Haye want the fight or not. Money issues aren't the problem here. |
