I've done it before several times and the most it lasts a couple days.

Is there a specialist doctor or a sports injury clinic in your area you could go see for a second opinion?

It should go away after a few days with good heating/wraps and minimum physical effort with the affected area. Should be treated like a broken/fractured broke IMHO, Move it enough and it'll rip / restart the repair process all over again until its whole.

It sounds to me like you need an MRI to see if there are any damage to your legiments or tendons as opposed to an X-Ray.
