I don't really care about the mosque and can't be bothered to read all of that nonsense, but the author of it should google a few things.
1. The origin of the "Ground Zero" name given to this proposed building. 2. Question why they decided to call it the Cordoba project. 3. We have a right to know where the funding for it comes from. 4. Why is Feisal Abdul Rauf being sent to the Middle East on the taxpayer dime, where he will surely seek funding for the whatever you want to call it? 5. Rauf has made some pretty controversial comments. and Rauf already has approval to build it. The name of it seems to change back and forth between mosque and "cultural center" depending on whether they're trying to argue religious freedom or not. The only rights that are being violated here are the First Amendment rights of those who think this whole thing is in poor taste. Several prominent democrats are against this thing, like Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Rep Jason Altmire, Florida Senate candidate Jeff Greene, and apparently 54% of registered democrats. So quit trying to make this issue partisan. http://www.nationalreview.com/corner...atthew-shaffer Last edited by Jim Jeffries; 08-24-2010 at 08:37 PM.. |
