i'm starting to find it extremely interesting how many small things i may not immediately take note of that add up to one fighter dominating the other.

ezzard charles letting his opponent walk into that right hand is an immediate example of something so minute that could end a fight in seconds.

i saw a video of how pacquiao was countering cotto's jab (a hook over the jab being an obvious counter) but i was just wondering if there were more out there that i, and other learning board members, could be directed to.
these are all high quality videos probably made by people who have been involved in boxing as amateurs or trainers as their views are very insightful and accurate

I've seen them a while back and would recommend them to anyone who likes the technical aspect of the game

I particularly like the one with Charles, the jazz music fits so well

Seen all of these. There is a decent vid by Karceno (of all people) about some of the subtle things Floyd did in the Judah fight. Basically he set Judah up to take a body shot to the liver, an adjustment he made to waht Judah was doing in a matter of mere seconds.

Joe Louis is always a good one. His favourite thing to do was make fighters walk into his shots. Aggressive come forward fighters never stood a chance against Louis.

dream fight: Tyson vs Louis.

[QUOTE=Gino Ros;9173896]shane also finish mayorga with the left hook. when shane get you hurt, he like to go to left hook.

notice also at 5:00, everybody say that shane hurt margrito with right hands. but again when it was time to finish margrito shane throws THREE left hooks

Agreed. Shane's best punch has always been his left hook. It's the punch he goes to when he goes for the big KO. I would actually argue Floyd's best punch is his left hook also. He used it to finish Hatton, he murdered Corrales with it and he breaks with it when he's looking to hurt the other guy. He dropped JMM with it.
