Has PPV Ruined MMA By Depopulating The Audience?

I agree. I feel PPV while it makes business and GREEDY MONEY sense, it actuality hurts MMA and all sports. It limits an audience of fans and hurts bringing in new audience demographic. For sports to thrive especially in a financial depression it needs to be on FREE TV, on one of the major networks.

No fighters got to get payed. They hardly get payed enough in the sport which is a damn crime. But like everything else these days, **** cost money. $5-10 bucks to watch a 2 hour movie, 10-15 to go bowling. And if the UFC is going to give us 5-6 fights for 3 hours then ****, $45 ain't too bad. It's not as high as the huge boxing fights either.

It's good ****. Dana just needs to pay his fighters more and quit robbin on. Fighters can't feed their families and pay their bills getting $6,000 to show, and a few more stacks as a win bonus, AND IF YOUR LUCKY, take home a 30,000 dollar award bonus, and only getting that money 2-3 times a year, 4 if your lucky. Compared to boxers, UFC fighters are getting told to fight for nickel's and dimes.

you're using the bottom feeders as an example for all UFC fighters. Look at what 2nd or 3rd tier boxers get paid, its about the same. And past the main event in boxing, check the salaries of the undercard fighters. Its about the same in boxing and MMA. Its only that the top tier fighters get paid a lot more in boxing than in MMA.

No it's not. Shane Carwin had 40K set before the Lesnar fight. If it was boxing, this was for the Heavyweight title, a challenger of that caliber to the Heavyweight champion doesn't walk away with less then a million. Contenders only make 10-15k if their lucky. I'm sure contenders like Eddie Chambers at least get like 30-40k to fight.

mma has always been ppv in the u.s.

don't know what you're talking about.

aside from the ultimate fighter reality show and the occasional live card on spike , ufc is strictly ppv.

the ones not on ppv but on regular channels like strikeforce , ifl , etc. don't even really matter as far as mma to the casual fans.

if anything the hardcore mma fans are probably the ones who watch strikeforce.

Dana white is a piece of ****, the UFC is a billion doller company yet they pay guys like even GSP 400,000 compared to the amount of money they make for him, and not just that, these fighters, get injured, fight like mother****ers for three rounds and give everything they got, they got to pay for their familys, training camps, houses, lifestyles and like someone said above 4000 to show isn't enough.
