DaVarryl Williamson challenges Wladimir Klitschko to box-off

    DaVarryl challenges Wladimir to box-off
Willing to settle lawsuit in the ring but Klitschko hasn't agreed
    By Scott Shaffer
July 01, 2005 - DaVarryl Williamson is not yet a champion, but he showed the character of one on Thursday by offering to put his chance at every boxer's dream, a world title fight, on hold in order to fight a rematch against Wladimir Klitschko, a man who previously defeated him. Williamson made the offer as a means of resolving Klitschko's lawsuit against the IBF, or at least the issue of who should be Byrd's mandatory. Klitschko has thus far refused the offer because he wants an immediate shot at IBF heavweight champion Chris Byrd, whereas the proposed settlement would allow Byrd to defend, and possibly lose, the title to someone else while Klitschko and Williamson conducted the box-off. In the absence of a settlement, the presiding judge, William Martini will decide Klitschko's request that the Court prevent the IBF from sanctioning a mandatory between Williamson and Byrd. The judge promised to render a verdict in the next two weeks.

King will do anything to keep Wlad away from Byrd!

They've got so many tricks up their sleeve... Crazy!

Even if Wlad doesn't get his way in the court and is not fighting Byrd for the title, fighting Williamson would be another step back for him and make it poitless. He should pick anothet opponent... problem is, not many are willing to face him

Davarryl beat better opposition after the Wlad loss and Wlad is just pissed and acting like a child. The whole situation is a headache, I mean the past is the past and their fight wasnt for anything of merit anyhow. Wlad needs to quit acting like a ***** and stop thinking he can get title shots off of fighting journeyman bums for his whole career. Besides that Wlad loss can be disputed it ended prematurely and Davarryl had the lead IMO and it means jack because their was still significant rounds left.

Better opposition than Klitschko's opposition and he is a a busier fighter. Plus the Jefferson fight was for the IBF rankings.

Williamson has been busier and fought for a ranking spot. Wlad had 1 fight.

            Davarryl was ahead?

Why do you suppose the judges felt otherwise?

that ***** wlad will not fight Williamson again, the only reason he wants to fight byrd so bad is that he knows byrd can't kayo him, thats it!!! he knows he can steal away a belt from a featherfisted champ,. Williamson will kayo wlad if they do fight, easily too
