No no. You pretty much saw Rashad, an elite Big Ten wrestling, totally neutralize Rampage who relied too much on his striking and no a lot on his wrestling defense. There was basic stuff and I mean stuff a freshman in high school could have pulled off by Rampage that could have reversed the fight and made it more interesting, but he didn't.
Rashad did great. He did what he needed to do to get the judges on his side. The onus was on 'page to have the answer for Michican St. wrestling. and he concentrated too much on being a striker and not enough on being a wrestler.
Too the person who's not familiar with the types of freestyle wrestling, yeah, this was a lame match. If I could compare it to boxing, this was a Mayweather fight. It was very technical and played close to the cards.
In a way, this could be used as a good example of why Kermit Centron wouldn't get very far in MMA.
