If lebron james or Koby Bryant retire today from the NBA.....

NBA Stocks wouldnt go down as they did when Michael Jordan retired.

    thats it.

those kids saying that lebron james or koby are better or will be better than jordan dont even hit the 20's.... do the maths.. they didnt see the ICON GOD JORDAN during his regin.

MJ will own those cats, including Kobe(but that's for another topic), as long as he has Pip33 on his side. In fact, it should be MJ-PIP vs. KB24-LeBrick.

MJ-PIP will give the kids a hard time and they'll eke out a Quadruple OT win.

You actually could make the same argument against MJ if you really think about it.

When MJ made his run in the 90's, he wasn't playing the Lakers, Celtics or Pistons of the 80's.

I think he played in a watered down league to be honest with you. I don't think it takes away from his greatness because I think he's the best player of all time but let's be real, do you think he get's 6 rings if he played in the 80's?

      I don't think so

        watered down league..???

i dont know but I beleive the league is getting stronger and stronger .... year by year so....

the 1993-1996 bulls would have won a few rings in the 80's!

so.. yes!! which team of the 80 was better than the bulls???

they had great comp during their run. good knicks teams, cavs, orlando, and every team they played in the finals was great. blazers, suns, sonics, etc...

Not compared to the 80's though. Think about it, when MJ was at his peak, stars like Magic, Kareem, Bird, Dr. J, Drexler, etc were all passed their prime at this point. The "new" breed of superstars were still not as great as they were in the lat 90's, guys like Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, Garnett, etc....

It was a transitional period in the NBA. I don't think the 90's Bulls were anywhere close to being as good as the 80's Showtime Lakers or the Celtics of the 80's with Bird, Parrish, DJ, Ainge, Mchale, those were some great teams.

Yes man... lets look position per position.

                    80's lakers vs 90's Bulls

PG: Magic Johnson vs BJ Armstrong (edge Magic)
SG: Michael Cooper vs Michael Jordan (edge MJ)
SF: James Worthy vs Scottie Pippen (tough one to call I will say push)
PF: Kurt Rambis vs Horace Grant (edge Grant)
C: Kareem Abdul Jabar vs Will Perdue or Bill Cartwright (edge Kareem)

The biggest difference is in the bench, Lakers had a much deeper bench than the Bulls and Worthy could hang with MJ because he was a great scorer as well and did start over him in NC.

I think Magic and Kareem are what kills the Bulls, there's no way for them to even come close to stopping Magic from the PG position and Kareem scores at will.

I can make the same comparison with the Celts. I think they were also better.
