Roger Mayweather: “Shane Mosley can’t beat Floyd. They’ll say that I say that because I’m Floyd’s uncle. They’ll say “Aaaawwhh!” [Roger shakes his head]…But you know why he can’t beat Floyd?
“He can’t beat Floyd because Shane Mosley is gifted with handspeed, but he can’t out think Floyd. He can’t out think him. You see, that’s a gift that Floyd has. You can’t out think him.
Roger Mayweather: “Shane Mosley can’t beat Floyd. They’ll say that I say that because I’m Floyd’s uncle. They’ll say “Aaaawwhh!” [Roger shakes his head]…But you know why he can’t beat Floyd?
“He can’t beat Floyd because Shane Mosley is gifted with handspeed, but he can’t out think Floyd. He can’t out think him. You see, that’s a gift that Floyd has. You can’t out think him.
“Don’t get me wrong, Shane Mosley has tremendous handspeed, and he’s got tremendous boxing ability too. But he can’t outbox Floyd because if an opponent doesn’t throw a jab, how are you gonna hit Floyd?
“You’ve got to jab to hit Floyd. You’ve got to be able to corner him. [Mosley] can’t corner him, and he can’t outbox him.
“If you look at Mosley’s second fight with De La Hoya, De La Hoya came close to winning. I didn’t say he won, but he came close to winning. And my nephew boxes better than De La Hoya, he boxes better than Shane Mosley, and he’s probably better than all the rest of them anyways.”
FF: Do you think that it would be a good fight though, Mosley-Mayweather? Would it be a competitive matchup?
[Roger nods]
RM: “Shane Mosley would be a good matchup with anybody. Anybody!”
