This Olympic style drug testing was unheard of in boxing until this. Now, anytime someone is kicking some ass a potential opponent can try and demand this sort of thing again. In addtion, for a long time now we've seen some very funny contracts like the recent $10 million per pound, etc., not too mention the poor and/or corrupt judging that gives our sport a black eye, and the lists go on and on and on.
If we had a single boxing commission that oversees the sport, none of this would be a problem, or not nearly as bad I should say. Standard drug tests would be in place everywhere, not state by state, etc.
This is just yet another reminder of how truly chaotic our sport really is.
