Nielsen Media Ratings for HBO's Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7 & Dawson-Johnson II

HBO's regular boxing programming hasn't been what one would consider, "stellar" by any frigment of the imagination in 2009. We've had major lulls and dips in the action as the lack of continuous top quality fights have left the HBO subscriber with much to be desired.
The United States economy is at one of the lowest points in history as the average worker has been increasingly been losing their jobs due to outsourcing of many traditional domestic-based occupations as well as the down-sizing of numerous major firms. One of the key cost-cutting measures of the average consumer is to get rid of all forms of unnecessary expenses and that includes premium network subscriptions. The fact that a great number of boxing fans here in the U.S. come from the demographic that has been heavily affected by this financial down-turn, it wouldn't be suprising to see a big dip in the amount of HBO subscribers that shelled out the extra dollars specifically for boxing.
Here are the Nielsen Media figures for HBO's Miguel Cotto vs. Manny Pacquiao 24/7 series as well as the unwarranted Chad Dawson-Glenn Johnson rematch:
10/24/2009 - HBO - Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7 Pt. 1 - 338,000
10/31/2009 - HBO - Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7 Pt. 2 - 341,000
11/7/2009 - HBO - Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7 Pt. 3 - 424,000
11/7/2009 - HBO - Chad Dawson vs. Glenn Johnson - 774,000
Being that the 24/7 series for Pacquiao-Cotto isn't considered a live sporting event, it's difficult to state whether these figures are considered below or above average. However, the ratings for the Dawson-Johnson rematch are by far the lowest ever seen by an HBO World Championship Boxing bout by leaps and bounds.
LEAPS AND BOUNDS.
The idiot who thought it might be a good idea to make that rematch and pay top dollar on HBO for it is just that... a complete, moronic, imbecilic... IDIOT.
I'd suggest whoever ok'd that bout and approved the millions of dollars for that bout should proceed to slap themselves with a hammer in the face.
Hopefully going forward, Time Warner will realize that they have morons working at HBO sports and have morons running HBO's boxing programming. Fire everyone, hire some knowledgeable boxing guys regardless of their "law school" backgrounds and get this high budget network back on track. Hire back Lou Dibella, boxing brain Johnny Boz, Don "War-A -Week" Chargin as the match-maker and let the boxing fans vote on what they want to see. It's really that simple.
PS. Remember to listen to The Boxing Truth Radio every Sunday at 6pm PST as topics such as these are discussed on a regular basis by the fight fans and for the fight fans.

After HBO having such a great year with great ratings for Boxing this was the worst ratings ever for WCB, HBO might have to let Dawson go because he is way overpaid for the type of numbers he brings to the table.
So Pacquiao Cotto's numbers were worse then Mayweather Marquez's for 24/7. That's hilarious, but it really doesn't matter.
