On NZ Radio Sport last night they had a phone interview with David Tua. They were discussing the Haye fight and what it meant for the division.
Tua had some interesting points, asked if he would like to fight Haye in the future Tua said he would, however it was unlikley for the forseeable future. He cited the difficulties of dealing with the WBA, the fact that he is regional champion and ranked by the WBO and his two fight contract with Maori Television as difficulties in arranging the fight. Tua said Haye first has to get past John Ruiz, who Tua said is a difficult fighter on occasion, and after that Haye would probably choose someone ranked by the WBA, rather than risk a fight with him. Tua said he doesn't want to wait around for years trying to get a mandatory shot at Haye and is instead aiming to become WBO number one contender in 2010 and fight Wladamir Klitschko. He said once he wins that one, a unification fight between him and Haye would create huge interest in america due to their offensive styles.
