That's what I made my comparison too, not other NBA stars like Lebron, Wade...etc. When the Lakers play a team with no stars, calls are more likely to favor them even on the opponents homecourt. A perfect example would be the last 2 games against Oklahoma City and Houston, Kobe gets the ticky tack calls which is clearly an advantage that's why he shoots more free throws than everybody during the game.

kobe doesn't get the superstar ticky tack calls that lebron and some others do though.

lebron gets saved by the refs every game. look at last night. he actually didn't get a call (and he didn't deserve a call btw) and everyone is shocked.
