What I will give you is an excellent reference of the Pros and Cons along with Myths associated with Vegatarian eating habits.

This is something I read up on when I was considering it ... ultimately I decided on a hybrid eating habit. Cutting out most of the things we eat that deteriorate health.

Well first of it is alot easier and convenient to get protein and iron from meat.
Why do you wanna be a vegetarian? The cruelty to animals argument is a fair one in some cases, like the way caged chickens are kept beakless fed on chemicals etc. Try to buy free range. I personally think if you wouldnt be prepared to kill it yourself you dont deserve to eat it. We eat alot chicken straight from my wifes parents farm.
But if you think being vegetarian is gonna help save the environment that argument doesnt hold IMO.

are you going to be a vegertarian or a vegan? the only cons I can think of is that by not consuming meat it'll be more difficult(not impossible though) to obtain all the essential amino acids and there's a potential for a b12 deficiency.. but as long as you have a good diet being a vegetarian is a healthy lifestyle

Here's what happened to me. Way back in college I became a vegetarian for about 8 years. During that time when I got thin, just eating a lot of nuts too as I had a heavy weight lifting routine kept the weight on me. I can't recall what got me off of it but I did.

A decent amount of years went by and I noticed I was just not feeling good. Not much energy. So I went back to being a vegy. Felt much better but got too thin, and after about 7 years I was not feeling energetic. So I went back to eating eggs, chicken and turkey. Felt much better and have stayed that way now for about 9 years.

I am 56 and have 9% body fat. My advice is, do what feels right to YOU. When it stops feeling right, change to what does.
