Silva is their p4p4p king but he hgas been KO'd by a brazilian clubfighter in 2 minutes. EVen worse a brazilian clubfighter, who would probably last 30 seconds with an American or European champion. A boxer of world class ability would KO most of MMA's best.

joining an organisation where you could earn large amounts of money for doing well sounds like a very logical thing to me, especially when you believe it to be full of bums and it is easy to do well in said organisation.

Like this past weekend my hometown had an event they called Cage Rage held outside a local restaurant where legitimate fighters who train in gyms, some with pro records, got together at a self-promoted event by the headliner with some of the proceeds going to charity.

Admission was charged, fighters were paid, but it still didn't go through all the 'proper channels'

Remember when Tommy Morrison didn't pass his blood test so he went to an Indian reservation and fought under 'MMA rules' where they didn't have to comply with the state who had turned down his application to fight?

I don't think Tim Sylvia vs. Ray Mercer was an 'official' fight either

Kimbo/Mercer wasnt.

And the UFC does this because they like to fabricate everything. Fighters abilities, records and PPV numbers. Its dishonest but they dont give a ****, its not like Dana White is man of integrity. Hes a slimy, scumbag promoter. Thats how you make money.

as for the bold, yes it was official, it was just an exhibition bout. it had all the required criteria a normal bout would, using a rule system, judges and to quote from the site "the match was scheduled as a three-round exhibition utilizing all professional rules of MMA combat."

Kimbo/Mercer doesn't count on Kimbo's record because it was an exhibition, not because it was unsanctioned or unofficial.

you want unsanctioned .. take those Kimbo youtube street fighting videos.

Don't they sometimes onl count the fights that have been in the UFC? I know sometimes when records change, the ones that signify they've had more overall fights means the ones they've had outside of the UFC. Machida, BJ Penn, GSP, Lesnar, have all fought at least once outside of UFC I know. So has Anderson Silva, Rampage, Henderson, Wanderlei, etc.

1. Jon Fitch, going into the St. Pierre fight in the promos the UFC claimed Fitch had a record of 21-2. yet other sites had him at 17-2.

Fitch has multiple fights that aren't on sherdog because the promoters failed to keep paperwork. Jordan Breen one of the record guys at sherdog has stated in the past those fights will eventually get added once they track down the dates they took place.

MMA is still very old west when it comes to records, there are guys in Brazil who have 20 pro fights or more and records on sherdog that are like (2-0).

This comes as no suprise. If someone tried to pull this **** in boxing it would be a huge controversy, but because MMA is more like the WWE then an actual sport the UFC can get away with it.

Or in MMA they dont boast bs 30-0 records and actually have the best fight each other.
