Would the economy be great if everyone though it was?

Alright, the economic system we have now that ceased to effectively function and turn out a national profit in early late 2007 early 2008. Where did that come from? It wasn't always in place, and I want to get to the bottom of what is real and what is imaginary about our economic system.

Meltdown is pretty quick, i read it in like 2 days... and it just describes how the fed made alot of it possible....

Empire of Debt was great IMO... and it came out in 06 or 05... predicted alot of this ****... but some parts of it are dry when he goes off talking about what other empires of the past have done... but, again, i loved it

I read Empire of Debt right after it came out (it's in a box in my closet now, I think). Very insightful, definitely.
