Default Greatest tv fight card you ever saw!!!!!

What was the best tv fight card you ever saw(HBO, SHOW, ABC, CBS, ETC). I began watching boxing in 1977 and at least twice a year until 1981 ABC would run a major card, usually on Friday or Saturday evenings. The best card I ever saw broadcast was the November 30, 1979 card headlined by Sugar Ray stopping Benitez in the 15th round to win the WBC and Ring Welterweight title. Also that night Hagler fought to a 15 round draw with Vito Antoufermo for the middleweight crown, and Marvin Johnson stopped Victor Galindez in the 11th round to win the WBA 175 pound belt.
Each fight was 4 stars plus in terms of ring action.

I have only being watching boxing for a few years but the best card I have seen was headlined by Jermain Taylor vs Kelly Pavlik 1 (which was a candidate for fight of the year in itself). On the undercard was Andre Berto vs David Estrada (one hell of fight lasting 11 great rounds). Also on the undercard was Chazz Witherspoon, Ronald Hearns, Carlos Quintana and Omar Sheika. Most were against stiffs but they were impressive enough. Very good card by todays standard.

Don King's demise has been a great loss to this sport. The man still puts on good cards but unfortunately he doesn't have the clout that the golden boy has with HBO

The best thing that could have ever happen to boxing IS the demise of Don King. Sorry. Good cards at times, no doubt about that but his crooked business he conducted with fighters and their contracts as well as rival promoters diminished any respect I could have for him. Way back in the 70's, the now defunct "Wide World Of Sports " ceased to show boxing cards as long as Don King was involved. What does that tell you.

The majority of cards presented in the 70's on ABC's Wide World Of Sports was promoted by King. From 76-77, he promoted the rigged "US Tournament" on ABC. Several of the superfights ABC broadcasted from 76-81 were also promoted by King.
