        In his prime Tyson could shift his weight effortlessly and be in position to land some devestating punches. Without a doubt he is faster than Dempsey. Just look at some of Tysons early fights and compare them to Dempsey.

          IN order to come in with the full fledged attack mentality and not ever get knocked out coming in, his footwork must have been very fast, and indeed it was. I would have to rank him very, very high on the all time list of footwork, and in terms of coming in, probably the best. (in heavyweight)

            Hard to tell. The old footage is inconclusive. Tyson had to be one of the quickest coming forward though. A freakin machine in his young prime.

              back in the 80's he was just like a train comming at you. I don't know if he was the fastest moving forward, but his combo of speed and power was deadly.

                Prime Tyson definitely was one of the fastest, if not the fastest ever when coming forward. Along with his great balance, upper body movement and blistering combinations, he was nigh unstoppable.
