No, not the Sandra Bullock film (which was completely unrelated to this, despite sharing a title) but a sci fi-thriller-drama-horror about a man who develops the ability to see certain events of the future.

Hideki goes on a road trip with his wife and daughter, but has to stop off at a pay phone due to an important work project. While in the booth, he sees a page of newspaper, dated the day after, reporting the death of his daughter. A large truck then hits his daughter, killing her.

As expected, this changes his life forever. His marriage falls apart, and he tries to investigate others who had the same power as himself, learning that changing the future can sometimes make things worse.

I downloaded my copy of Premonition, and the subtitles seem to have been done by a fan, rather than having been taken from the DVD. Obviously these people try to help, and something is better than nothing, but the person responsible may not have been 100% fluent in the English language. Several lines seemed to be on the same level as 'all your base are belong to us', and this did impact upon my viewing pleasure.

This film was pretty much run of the mill. It was a good initial idea, but didn't develop into anything particularly interesting or impressive. At the same time, it had no major flaws and was a decent enough viewing experience.
