Consider this... (Regarding your favourite subject: Floyd Mayweather & weight!)

Floyd is currently a welterweight, right? 147lbs.

and Marquez a lightweight? 135lbs (yes, he is a lightweight now after KOing the two best fighters in the division consecutively)

Don't they say moving down in weight is far more demanding than moving up in weight?

So if the fight were to take place at exactly 140lbs (light welter), one division above Marquez and one below Floyd, surely then it'd be Floyd stretching himself to accomodate the opponent (he would be accountable for about 58% of the compromise and that's not taking into account losing weight being more demanding than gaining it) ? And is it really realistic, considering how much more he brings to the table than Marquez, revenue-wise, for him to be the one making the larger sacrifice?

So as it stands at 144lbs Marquez is accountable for exactly 75% of the compromise, Floyd 25%... But once you work in the theory that moving down in weight is more difficult than moving up in weight it would roughly look like 66% - 33%? Maybe even 60-40

    Thoughts?

true, but then this isn't really aimed at people who follow your line of thinking

it's regarding the official weigh-in weights.

But floyd comes in at 147 on fight night, so he can dehydrate 7lbs easily.

by that logic, Marquez comes in at 144 on fight night, so can gain 3lbs easily?
